4.2L inline-6 engine
This 1982 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler is a long-wheelbase pickup version of the CJ-7 that is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. The truck is finished in metallic gray with blue graphics, and modifications include an electronic ignition system, suspension and body lifts, black steel wheels, fender flares, and more.
The truck was repainted in dark metallic gray with two-tone blue decals under previous ownership and features tubular step bars, a black removable hardtop, wide plastic fender flares, a black steel rear bumper with a receiver hitch, a roll bar, and body-colored full doors.
Black 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 31″x10.5″ Milestar Patagonia mud-terrain tires, and manually-locking front hubs are equipped up front. A matching spare is mounted inside the bed, which also features wood stake sides and a bench across the wheel wells. Modifications include suspension and body lifts, and the brake lines were recently replaced.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl and separated by an aftermarket storage console with cupholders. Equipment includes a tilt steering column, a BOSS Audio Systems stereo, and an aftermarket panel housing a voltmeter, 12-volt socket, and USB port. The heater is inoperable.
Instrumentation consists of an 85-mph speedometer, a Bosch tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, voltage, and oil pressure.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a T5 five-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case.
